Hey guys, I ordered this a few weeks/months back and so far this has been working PERFECTLY for me. I have a new bottle on the way right now. I love Mielle and this is my favorite oil they have made yet, it works. It grew out my bald spots and thickened my hair up by a lot, I know a lot of reviews say that it makes clumps of hair fall out but I want to say that this oil works well but only on CERTAIN HAIRS! I am African American black female with 4c hair and it has worked for me, my mom and all of my other family members with 4c hair and we have had no problems what so ever. I would say this works perfectly on 4a,4b, 4c and maybe even 3c. A lot of people with straight or wavy hair textures have reported their hair falling out or it making their scalp itchy or burning their hair off or even it just making their hair greasy. That doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with this oil it’s just maybe this oil wasn’t for them as black hair, as in the hair textures that black and mixed race people tend to have, is more suited or stronger for products like this which is why our hair can handle cool protective styles like cornrow braids but others with straight or wavy hair can’t. Using this product has helped me a lot within four months and don’t get me wrong, I still experienced breakage of course, it’s natural but nothing major like the shedding that people have reviewed and that is solely because of my hair type. If you have hair like mine then you have literally nothing to worry about, but if your allergic to peppermint or your hair is wavy or straight or even curly but not as in black people curly (Mixed race people included), then this product is NOT for you as it WILL result in your hair falling out, it WILL result in your scalp stinging, it WILL result in itching and redness and shedding. I know this because some of my white friends or friends with straight/wavy hair tried this product and their hair all had one of the symptoms I listed above after using it compared to me, my family and friends with afro hair. I’ve bought this 4-5 times now. I tried using some others from bigger brands but keep coming back to this one. Definitely wayyyy more affordable and works well. I just use 3-4 vials on my hair and let it sit for ar least 20 minutes before I shower and there’s a noticeable difference in my scalp health. It almost feels like my hair doesn’t get as oily as fast.I stopped using for about 3 months and felt like my hair was way more dry and I also had more fall out.So adding this back in rotation for sure!

Hair a little dried out? Especially in between washes? My professional stylist encouraged me to try Mielle and here’s the tea! These are now a staple in my routine!Use two ways! Method 1: in between washes, use a few drops on hands, comb fingers through hair, patting down fly-aways to combat dryness. Finish brushing through and Voila! Sleek, shiny hair that smells amazing! Method 2: Before washing apply to scalp and gently massage scalp with fingers, or for an even more luxurious feel, scalp massager. Leave on for 10 minutes before washing. Leaves my scalp and hair feeling refreshed and healthy.One reason why some users have said it leaves their hair too oily is because they might be using too much at once. I find that I use a generous amount for the prewash scalp massage and just a few drops on my hands to comb through for days I’m not washing my hair. A little goes a long way!I’m a middle-class mama trying to find quality products at reasonable pricing, which is like a guessing game these days. This comes in tinted glass and has a nice applicator. I have recently been struggling with hair loss and started a pretty intense hair routine to help with the overall health of my hair/scalp. About 3 months ago I started using topical Minoxidil, twice daily scalp massages, and once weekly derma rolling. I also do an oil treatment 1-2 times a week using a combination of Mielle Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil, and black castor oil. I love the smell of the Mielle oil, and the fresh tingling sensation the mint leaves on my scalp. I’ve been doing these oil treatments for the past 3 months and have added major length and softness to my hair! I really wish I would have taken progress pictures so I could see how much its grown. I’m also noticing a ton of new growth too, which I’m super excited about. I would highly recommend this product if you are like me and trying to build a healthy hair routine.

Putting 5 stars so I can warn ya’ll.I have lost HALF of my hair from this product…. and no that is not an exaggeration.. I split my hair and pulled it to the front, leaving nothing in the back. Compared to what my hair was like last year, I had the same amount in the front as now, but ALSO the same amount still in the back. Writing this review right now, because I just saw that video and I am furious.I would use it in the mornings then head to work, wash it out after work. I did it 2x a week for 3 weeks, I noticed more shedding than normal, but didn’t think too much of it. My hair felt softer than ever so I thought it was working. But looking back at photos from before I started to 3-4 treatments in… it so badly thinned my hair.I didn’t realize my hair was thinning, and then decided try it over night — WORST DECISION EVER. The listing literally says to “leave in and style as desired” and nowhere does it say a max time limit for the scalp treatment. I referred to positive reviews about wearing it through day for a good time frame. I knew sleeping in it might be a little risky and too long (even though you can supposedly leave it in), and I was so right….. it was the most amount of hair I had ever seen come out. My hair still feels like it’s shedding more than normal, and it’s been a MONTH since I’ve used this product. When will the shedding end??!!If you still want to try for yourself, I’d recommend doing no longer than 30 minutes and see how much hair you lose. Maybe that’s the max time you should actually do, but then the company should advertise it that way. Instead they advertise it completely opposite. I thought the negative reviews were just bad luck or leaving it in for days (you’d think a hair growth serum would not be DETRIMENTAL if left in too long though…).Lets just say, by FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS IT STILL CAUSED HAIR LOSS, and that is absolutely ridiculous.So PLEASE BE CAREFUL USING THIS PRODUCT. It’s one thing for a product to not work, completely different if it literally does the exact opposite of what it claims to do. I am so sad.
